COVID-19 scams are on the rise. Those trying to take advantage of people who may be in a vulnerable position is nothing new and unfortunately scammers try even harder to take advantage of others during times of crisis. There are several scams making the rounds right now including many that are looking to obtain personal details or bank information.
One of the largest has scammers trying to re-route unemployment benefits to themselves. It’s important to always beware of anyone seeking to collect this type of information as most legitimate organizations will not ask for it over the phone. Read the NFCC’s post about what scams to look out for.
